These "peas" are hulled and then split in half along their natural seam, which encourages faster cooking and eliminates the need to pre-soak. Split peas are high in protein and fibre, and low in fat and they turn very creamy when cooked through.

Yellow split peas are a wonderful for making soups, casseroles & traditional Indian dishes like tarka dahl, kitcheri & aromatic stews. To Cook: 1. Rinse 2. Soak for 4-6 hours (or overnight). 3. Boil for 20-60 minutes depending on the recipe and ensure that there's always water in the pot.
