Primrose Herd Flat Beef Brisket is perfect for those who enjoy eating fat. Full of character and with a real old-fashioned depth of beef flavour, our grass-fed Brisket has a wonderful amount of rich buttery fat, that is ideal for slow cooking or gently smoking, to allow the fat to render. Brisket responds best to long, slow cooking - this allows the open grain of the meat to relax and become perfectly tender. It also allows the seam of fat to melt away, enriching the gravy and complementing the meat.

The brisket flat—sometimes called the "first cut"—is the leaner, rectangular part of a beef brisket. It's cut away from the fattier point cut and is perfect for slicing because of its clean, uniform shape. This is the cut you want for making classic dishes like corned beef.

Available sizes- 2-3 kg

Primrose Herd's beef is only from the best local, grass-fed Cornish cattle leading to the highest of quality beef, whether it be steak or roasting joint.

Primrose Herd beef is always fresh, butchered to order, vacuum packed and shipped in recyclable packaging.

About the Brand

Primrose Herd's Pork is sourced from their own farm or local smallholder farmers in Cornwall. The pork is bred to the highest of welfare standards and Primose Herd only works with farms that share their values of natural, slow-growth, with plenty of space and freedom to roam. Primrose Herd itself is a mixture of traditional breeds, all of which have special qualities. Gloucester Old Spots and Large Blacks are reared on the family farm. Tamworths, Welsh, and British Lops are sourced from neighbouring farms in West Cornwall. Their traditional farming ethos results in excellent marbling in the meat and a great flavour, and their meat is of award-winning quality.
