Since 2004, this has been the secret haunt for those who, like you, believe that chocolate should be an experience rather than just a snack. Founded by Katie Gorvett and Matt Stone, the brand was built on a simple, uncompromising defiance against the "ordinary." You won’t find any artificial preservatives or palm oils in these glass counters; instead, you are met with the intoxicating aroma of Valrhona chocolate and fresh, seasonal ingredients.
As you browse the vibrant displays, you’ll notice that every single truffle, caramel, and "Stonker" bar has been tempered and decorated by hand in their open-plan kitchen. Whether you are eyeing up their award-winning sea salt caramels or their quirky, hand-painted chocolate sheep, you are witnessing a perfect marriage of high-end French technique and playful British wit.
This isn't just about satisfying a sweet tooth; it’s about your appreciation for true craftsmanship. When you choose a box of Gorvett & Stone, you are supporting a small team of dedicated chocolatiers who still believe in doing things the "proper" way. From the first snap of the dark chocolate shell to the smooth, lingering finish, you’ll understand exactly why this little shop in Henley has become a landmark for chocolate lovers across the country.
