There's a cool back-story here. My cousin was born in Burma, and she asked me if I would like some of her chillis from her greenhouse. I said 'yes', of course! So, I thought I'd try to make her a sauce that gave a nod to her birthplace... 

Based loosely, then, on a Burmese curry recipe, what we have ended up with is beautifully smooth and sweet, curryish sauce. It's unbelievably versatile - really good with fish (salmon, smoked fish, white fish - great in a fish pie, drizzled over kedgeree, you name it), incredible with bratwurst and sauerkraut for a currywurst, and it's also incredible with chicken. It's also an awesome curry sauce for fish and chips! You can also mix it with mayo for slaw, or a Coronation-style dressing for chicken, potato salad, etc.

About the Brand

We're Braw Sauces, and we're based in the south of Scotland. We started making sauces in 2019, as a hobby. Then lockdown came along, and we spent a good deal of it refining our recipes, and being encouraged by friends to sell them.

We now have a range of sauces, ranging from no heat at all, to medium-hot. We're not here to blow your head off. If the heat goes with the sauce, we add it, but we're all about creating interesting, flavoursome sauces that are fun to add to recipes, have on the side of dishes, and generally play around with.

We're constantly on the lookout for local producers to keep our ingredients low-carbon wherever we can, and we stick to the traditional glass sauce bottles to help make them easy to clean and recycle.
